The company

ExpatPapers is a trading name of Vantar Group LLC, a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. The registered address is 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Email reaches a person at support@expatpapers.com, normally within one business day. There is no phone queue and no chatbot, because almost every question about this process needs someone to read your dates.

What we do

We are a courier and agent service. You order your own FBI Identity History Summary, or your own certified state record, and send it to us. We take the federal documents to the U.S. Department of State, Office of Authentications in Washington, and we send state documents to the Secretary of State that issued them. The apostilled document comes back to you, tracked. The base price is $299 for a federal apostille, government fees and tracked US return shipping included, and $149 for each state document.

What we do not do

We do not obtain your FBI report for you. Federal rules release an Identity History Summary only to the applicant or the applicant's attorney, so nobody in this industry can honestly offer it, and we say so on the page about ordering it. We do not sell consular legalization for countries outside the Apostille Convention. We are not a law firm, not an immigration adviser, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or any consulate. We cannot tell you whether you qualify for a visa.

How we source facts

Every factual claim on this site carries a link to the office that decides and the date we read it. Never another apostille service. Where consulates inside one country contradict each other, we publish the contradiction instead of the tidier answer. Where we have no primary source, the page stays unpublished and says so, which is why there is still no recency window published for Portugal. Claims we believe the rest of this category gets wrong are collected, dated and sourced on what this industry gets wrong, and the underlying research is published as an open dataset under CC BY 4.0.

We are not the cheapest

Other services advertise the same federal apostille for less, and we put eleven of them next to us with their own published prices on apostille services compared. Four of the six buyer recommendations on that page point somewhere other than here. What is different here is that the requirements are quoted from the office that decides, and that we tell you when your timing will not work before you pay.

Handling of sensitive data

An FBI Identity History Summary can contain criminal history record information. We never ask for its contents by email or web form, never store them in order records, never use them for analytics or model training, and delete any delivery scan within 30 days.
